Discover Burnaby's heritage with Story Maps

The Charting Change Atlas was first introduced in a poster format in 2000 to celebrate the Millennium. It showcases a series of historical maps to demonstrate the development of the City and its various heritage resources. A digital but static version of the map was published in 2003 on the then new Heritage Burnaby website. In 2010, an interactive version of the Charting Change Atlas was launched, providing textual information, neighbourhood histories, links to digitized photographs, historic sites and artifacts and current street view to over 170 points of interest throughout the City. We are excited to introduce the latest update to the map utilizing the storytelling app, Story Maps, which provides greater flexibility and ease of use to navigate the City's past.
