Burnaby’s Reeve Fraser sent a congratulatory telegram to Canadian Forces stationed in Europe on the declaration of peace and the cessation of hostilities on November 11, 1918. The telegram reads: “Municipality of Burnaby offers heartiest congratulations to Canadian soldiers on victorious termination of War, and triumph of right and justice.”
