Don McQueen fonds

A scrapbook documenting the construction of the Fraser Valley Milk Producers Association plant from it’s inception in 1961 until it’s opening 1964 is now available for viewing. The original headquarters for the FVMPA was located at 425 W. 8th Avenue in Vancouver and as a result of the FVMPA’s growing success and need for expansion, a modern plant was planned to open in Burnaby. The four million dollar plant was built on a 24 acre site located at Sperling and Lougheed Highway with Don McQueen as the head engineer.  Don took pride in this accomplishment by retaining 99 photographs and articles chronologizing the planning, construction and implementation of this integral part of Burnaby’s industrial history.
