Heritage Burnaby Website Wins Award!

The Burnaby Heritage Commission has been advised that the Heritage Burnaby Website Upgrade Project has received a Heritage BC Award at the Recognition level. This award is in the Heritage Education & Awareness category.

The website was first launched in 2008 as an initiative of the Community Heritage Commission and City Council, to provide an online finding aid of the City's rich heritage collections.

The upgrade to the Heritage Burnaby website makes it easier than ever to access City Council records, Community records, bylaws, heritage landmarks, oral histories, digitized film footage, digitized publications and more.

The new site's sophisticated 'one search' function and mobile friendly design enables students, teachers, researchers, city staff and members of the public to search the many city repositories of information held in the City Archives, the Burnaby Village Museum and the Burnaby Heritage Planning Program.

The award will be accepted on behalf of the City at the Heritage BC awards evening on February 18th in Vancouver.
